Within the Kingdom of Bahrain, the protection of the environment falls under the auspices of the Supreme Council for Environment. Established in December 2012, it replaced the Public Commission for Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife, and is tasked with protecting the country’s natural environment and monitoring potentially harmful industrial activity.
